# Vision

At RootNetwork, we believe that internet autonomy is a basic human right. Yet, around the globe, internet users are becoming increasingly subjected to unauthorized data harvesting, censorship, and exploitation. The current internet infrastructure, heavily centralized, facilitates this control. To reclaim our rights, we must shift away from centralized systems. True autonomy and anonymity online cannot be achieved by adhering to the policies of a single entity. Whether it's for communication, computing, or casual browsing, a well-designed decentralized network always outperforms its centralized counterpart. That's the core purpose behind RootNetwork.
